(11) Nursery Poem

The Three Little Pigs
The song: London bridge

THE VOICE: The oldest piggy built a house of straw, a house of straw, a house of straw, the oldest piggy built a house of staw, then came the wolf.

THE WOLF: Little pig come outside, come outside, come outside, little pig come outside, my dear piggy.

THE OLDEST PIG: Not on the hair's of my chinny chin chin, chinny chin chin, chinny chin chin, not on the hair's of my chinny chin chin, big bad wolf!

THE WOLF: I will blow your house down, house down, house down, I will huff and puff, huff and puff, huff and puff, I blew your house away, lunch time piggy!

THE VOICE: The second oldest pig built a house of sticks, a house of sticks, a house of sticks, the second oldest pig built a house of sticks, then came the wolf.

THE WOLF: Little pig come outside, come outside, come outside, little pig come outside, my dear piggy.

THE SECOND OLDEST PIG: Not on the hair's of my chinny chin chin, chinny chin chin, chinny chin chin, not on the hair's of my chinny chin chin, big bad wolf!

THE WOLF: I will blow your house down, house down, house down, I will huff and puff, huff and puff, huff and puff, I blew your house away, snack time piggy!

THE VOICE: The youngest pig built a house of bricks, a house of bricks, a house of bricks, the youngest pig built a house of bricks, then came the wolf.

THE WOLF: Little pig let me in, let me in, let me in!
THE YOUNGEST PIG: Not on the hair's of my chinny chin chin, chinny chin chin, chinny chin chin!
THE WOLF: I will huff and puff, huff and puff, huff and puff, my dear piggy.

THE VOICE: The house of bricks did not fall, did not fall, did not fall, so the wolf climbed the chimney, climbed the chimney, climbed the chimney, and the pig made a fire, made a fire, made a fire, and the wolf got burned!

THE END

Overpowering the brain
Filled with strong aroma
Flavours are plain
Everyday they need their cup
Energizes the body

Bullying

I wish I could disapear
Because it hurts when they call you names
And I'm only filled with fear
They make it look like a bunch of games
Becuse it hurts when they call you names
They punch and kick and you don't know what to do
They make it look like a bunch of games
I just wish I could start a new
They punch and kick and you don't know what to do
I see people all around standing and staring
I just wish I could start a new
I don't think that there's many people in the world who are caring
I see people all around standing and staring
And I'm only filled with fear
I don't think that there's many people in the world who are caring
I wish I could disapear.

Inspiration: Bullying happens almost at every school so I decided to do a poem on bullying to show people how someone would feel if they were bullied.

(8) Cinquain #2

(8) Cinquain #1

Ice Cream!

Inspiration: I like to eat icecream.

(7) Haikus

Seasons!

Snow is on the ground
Kids wear jackets, hats and gloves
The winter is here.

It's wet and there's sun
The birds sing and flowers grow
It's what we call spring.

It'a hot and sunny
Time for relaxing and fun
No school but summer!

The leaves are changing
It's getting a bit colder
It's time for autumn.

Inspiration: I thought it would be fun to do a poem on the seasons because there are many great poets who did their poems on seasons too and I have not yet done a poem on the seasons.

(6) Model Poem

Racism still sadly continues
by Amit Chubbah

Racism comes in many shapes and forms
Sadly I have had my fair share since I've been born
Judged before I have been even given a chance
Delaying my future and for my career to advance
Myu parents tell me stories they have to endure
I wish racism was a sickness with a dose of medication to cure
Thankfully there are good hearted and educated people
Who can look beyond skin colour and treat us all as an equal
If humans nver saw colour, what would it be like then
I am sure everyone would get along and call eachother friend
I hope my kids and the next generation never get to witness racism first hand
Let's pray for them racism was a issue in the past that no longer stands
Life is hard as it is, without the need of racism
Like supporting our family and giving our kids a good education
Ways to stop racism should begin at home and school
Getting along will be our greatest advantage, our strongest too
I did have people who I did call friends
But their own racist views meant our friendship had to end
It does not matter, if you're white, black or brown
You should feel safe to walk and talk in any town
To those facing racism, all I can say is be brave and stay strong
To those racist, deep down in your heart you must know it's wrong
God blessed us by putting us here, giving us all diffrent shades of colour
Were not meant to have the same colour skin, but we can all respect one another.

Racism
by:Emily Phan

Judged before I have been even given a chance
Delaying my future and for my career to advance
Some people have it bad and have to endure
I wish racism was like a sickness with a cure
Thankfully, there are good hearted people
Who can look beyond skin colour and treat us all as an equal
I did have people who I called friends
But their racist views meant our friendship had to end
It does not matter, if you're white, black, yellow or brown
You should feel safe to walk and talk in any town
Those who face racism, all I can say is be brave and stay strong
Those who are racist, you know deep down it's wrong
God blessed us by putting us here, giving us all diffrent shades of colour
Were not meant to have the same colour skin, but we can all learn to respect one another.

Inspiration: Racism is still around these days and I wanted to do a poem on racism to show how much racism could affect someone in many ways. I was lucky to have found a poem on racism.

(5) Shakespearean Sonnet

Shakespearean Sonnet

My school is full of people who tell lies,
They show their school spirit but no respect,
Some kids have lockers full of dirt and flies,
They're so grubby I need to disinfect,
The school's a rip off and kids brag a lot,
Some staff members are mean and they spit talk,
Most students are rude and want to boycott,
But what can you do, just sit there and mock,
Some people's breaths aren't pleasant for it reeks,
They try to make school cool, but I'm no fool,
It's not like this school is built of just freaks,
But there's some decent people in this school,
I know I may sound harsh but it's the truth,
But hey I'm here, I might as well hold ruth.

Inspiration: My school. Before I wrote this poem I didn't necessarily want to insult my school I just wanted to show people the faults and negative points of the school and a way we can solve the problems and such but I kind of got carried away and I got so in to writing the negative points that I didn't include any positive points and before I knew it I had written too much but I thought it was a good poem (in terms of the rhymes) so I didn't want to change it.

ps. If I insulted anyone with this poem than I'm very sorry.

(3) Extended Metaphor Poem

Metaphor Poem

Dancing is Painting. With dance and painting you can expressyourself anyway you want. Each movement is each stroke. When you slide your foot across the floor it's like gliding your brush across the paper. When you twirl, you're spinning your brush in a cricle. As you gracefully move your hands, you're gripping your brush lightly with a gentle touch on the paper. And as you're preparing your final move your brush is gliding across the page in a graceful fluid stoke and finally the dance is finished, so is the painting.

Inspiration: Well when I was assigned to do a metaohor poem I was trying to think of a good metaphor and so I chose something random like painting then I tried to compare it to  bunch of different things like sports, eating and all that but I couldn't really find a good metaphor until I came up with the subject of dancing. The two subject of dancing and painting were random. :)

(1) Introduction Poem

Introduction Poem

I am Emily Phan.
I am twelve years old.
I play the piano.
My hamster died.
I have two sisters.
I have an iPod.
I like to read Harry Potter.
My cellphone broke.
I love manga and anime.
I am Emily Phan.

Inspiration: I tried to think of different things/events that happened in my life for the truths but for the lies I just came up with random stuff that an everyday teenager goes through or has like a cellphone that I don't have and such.
